Introduction Saba Island is the smallest Carribean island that is located in the north eastern region of the carribean sea. The island is well known for its ambiguous culture, beautiful blue waters, and the extravagantly gifted forms of art. Over the course of two centuries this beautiful island has endured a handful of cultural changes that have helped shape the prolific culture that is seen in Saba today. This encouraged other cultures to join the ambiguous group of cultures that already presided in Saba. It is a melting pot of Dutch, French, spanish, and English. Along with the features of over four different religions to choose from. However it did not start this way. Before two hundred years ago Saba was the focal point in a battle between nations as to who fully owns the land. What people did not see coming years in the future was that all the trading and migration shocked the culture of Saba.

The Tale Of The Ambigeous Island

The topic that I will be talking about today is very interesting to me because of how diverse this small island is and how you would only see such large diversity in large countries. In the Saba island due to the islnd being traded several times from nation to nation in their past, Their culture is very ambigeous so when it came to the traditions of the culture they were divded spiritually. As GGC Carribean states " The mixture of tradition is reflected in the way the people embrace their spirituality as a part of their cultural identity". The religions that were dominant were Roman Catholicism, Angelican, Jehovah's Witness, and the Seventh Day adventist. All these Religions has different practices with caused the diveristy in culture. This also added more diveristy because the Now Dutch Island had few people practice Dutch traditions because almost everyone else celebrated aother traditon from the island the came from. However one tradition that was prominant in Saba isl

The Historical greatness of Saba

The Saba island has been around for many centuries. It was created above the area of a dormant volcano. The Island was home to the Ciboney tribes during the late 1300's and early 1400's.  In 1493 Christoper Columbus discovered the island but Europeans were not fully welcomed until 1640.  During that time period before the discovery many settlers pushed most of the Ciboney tribe away from the area. Creating a mixture of tribes, cultures and nations. The island of Sint Eustatius sent people to the Saba island in order to colonize there. This further brought more cultural diversity to the island. Leading to many different languages, and traditions. The Island was constantly being traded from Dutch,French,Spanish, and English for two centuries. It wasn't until 1816 when the Island was sold to the Dutch and has been under Dutch control since. Due to the mixed culture there is many Dutch traditions and a accumulation of many others. The culture consist of African Latin and Europe

If you enjoy beautiful mountain scenery that overlooks the florescent blue waters of the Caribbean sea, then this is not a place for you. If you enjoy a pure ecstatic atmosphere with great food and exciting activities that would send you into pure ecstasy, this is not the place for you. This allows a mass diversity in religion on the island.
